chapter 4

In the picture people are partying at Jay Gatsby house. This is show how Rich Gatsby is because he got a Mansion. Most of these people are not even invited. Gatsby's house was where all the bootlegging went on. Everybody at the party was well dressed with expensive clothes. Even though Gatsby's throws party no one really ever see's him there. It seems like hes hiding at his own party but then again no knows him or how he looks like.

In this chapter Gatsby spends the day with Nick and goes have lunch together. Then we really gets to know about Gatsby's life that we didn't know about.

Quotes

" At nine o' clock one morning late in July Gatsby's gourgous car lurched up the rocky drive to my door and gave out a burst of melody from its three noted horn it was the first time he had called on me though i had gone to two of his parties. "
* This quote is talking about how
Gatsby personally made an effort to
get to know Nick.
*Gatsby opened up to nick and we
got to know a lot about him.

"He saw me looking with admiration at his car. 'It's pretty isn't it old sport,' he jumped off to give me a better view."
*Gatsby was showing off his money
by braggin about his car.

" A phrase began to beat in my ears with a sort of heady excitement: "There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy, and the tired."
Filled with faces dead and gone. Filled with friends gone now forever. I can't forget so long as I live the night they shot Rosy Rosenthal there....they shot him three times in the belly and drove away.
